Yardage requirements are greatly affected by pattern repeats, as extra fabric is needed to properly align patterns at seams for a consistent appearance across the furniture. Unlike solid fabrics, patterned materials—especially large florals, plaids, and stripes—typically require additional yardage to match both vertical and horizontal repeats. If a COM fabric has a repeat or is less than 54” wide, customers should increase COM requirements.
